Background on the Game
Crossfire is a North-American FPS game. It's servers are located in Canada while there is also one in the West Coast, as well as a UK one coming sometime in the future. This game revolves around two different teams, the Black List and the Global Risk.

Black List
A secret terrorist group. These guys are always up to no good.

Global Risk
The "good guys". Global Risk is a military organization made of discharged soldiers. They stop the terrorists.

Game Modes
1.Search and Destroy
The main part of this game (In my opinion) would have to be Search and Destroy. Basically, Black List is out to destroy one of the two targets in the game by planting the C4. Then while it is planted the C4 will show up on everyone's screen, telling them how much time they have left until it blows up by how fast the beeping is and what color it's turning into. Global Risk is trying to kill all the Black List. If Black List plants the bomb then Global Risk will have to get rid of anyone around the bomb so they can defuse safely. If you die in this mode, you will not be able to respawn until the next round (You can choose the number of rounds to play, with the highest being 13).

2.Team Deathmatch
Now this is a pretty simple game. Black List against Global Risk to get the most kills. Now you can play this game to a certain number of kills, or have it timed. TDM is a fast paced game and is good for new players to get a feel of the game, since you can respawn right after you die.

3.Ghost Mode
Now this is a game mode that hasn't been done before anywhere else. This is like SnD, but Black list is a group of ghosts, and aren't visible unless they move. The downside to being a ghost though, is that you only get to use a melee weapon (Like a knife). Global Risk is the same as always and have to rely on their senses to find ghosts. Headphones are especially suggested because you can track the footsteps of the ghosts as well as pinpoint where they are by hearing their breath. Lots of talented players can pinpoint well now and get the ghosts before they even move, but don't worry ghosts,Z8 brought Low breath and Low footsteps into the game to help you out. Also there is a skill called the "Bunny Hop", which lots of people know about, which, if you it right, can make u stay invisible while doing a crouched hop. So to sum it up, the ghosts have to plant the bomb and be sneaky, while the Global Risk have to be careful, try to defuse the bomb, and kill the ghosts.

4.Elimination
Elimination is the only mode where you don't use your own weapon (Except for columbia and Arena). What you do in this mode is pick up a gun from the floor (There will be a variety) and try to kill the other team. It is like TDM but except you cannot respawn until the next round.

5.Free for All
Pretty much like the name suggests, its you against the world. Free for all is a mode where you test your skills by trying to survive against everyone else. You use your own gun(s) and try to get the amount of kills to win or have the highest kills by the time chosen.

Maps
There are a total of 32 maps that are out right now. They are:

In-Game

Now this is how the game looks (In-Game). You have:

Your weapon on the right (Or on the left if you are left handed)
A Mini-Map on the Top left Corner
Your kills on the bottom (Shows HS, normal, Gold-etc)
Your health and character Bottom left
Score on the top
And as you can see in the middle is the scores of everyone, you press tab to check

You can switch back and forth from melee, nades, and weapons and smaller weps/items help you run faster.

Now that you have a bit of background info about the game lets go onto the review, shall we?

Review:

Gameplay and Sound 9/10
The gameplay in this game is better then lots of other MMOFPS. Even though it's not as realistic as, say, COD, it still has it's ups and downs. This game features a wide variety of guns and maps, each requiring their own style of playing. The maps have lots of places and objects to do endless tactics. The guns all vary from each other, and have different stats. This game also uses sound as an advantage. You could tell where someone is running by hearing their footsteps, hear ghosts breath and pinpoint where they are, as well as hear someone planting and defusing. The bad things about the game are things that you will find in lots of other games: Bugs, hackers, and sometimes Server problems (Lag); But z8 works very hard to get these things out of the way for players to enjoy the game.

Graphics 8/10
The graphics are pretty good overall. It definately beats games like Soldier Front. I have it on low graphics so it runs faster and it still looks pretty good. There are reflections on guns, water splashes, and you can see bullet trails as well. You can also turn blood on and off, which helps when you are shooting at ghosts. Also ghosts are designed very well, that even when they run you can still see through them. The game is pretty realistic and has good graphics.

Unique Features and Community 7/10
This game has a different style then other games. They incorporate a unique style of sound into the game that players can use to help them. CrossFire has a slow ranking system though, at least when you are starting out. When it would take around 100,000 exp to get to 2nd Luitenant in other games, it takes a bit more then 300,000 in this game. But once you get good at the game and play quite a bit you will not be affected by this (I get more then 5k a day, usually around 10k). The most Unique thing about this game though, would have to be the Ghost Mode (Refer to the section I made). You will never experience anything like it. Now onto the community. I feel sorry to say this but the community at CrossFire is not that great. While it has some great people and players it also has a lot of hackusaters, hackers, and QQers (People who complain). There are some really good players in this game now, as well as awesome clans. The mods and GMs in this game do their best to keep this game fun and help people out.

The End
So in the end, I really recommend that anyone who likes a good MMOFPS try this game. It is one of the best, if not the best, free-to-play fps. It has some great gameplay that will make you want to keep playing and playing. ~B_a_L_L_e_R
