Graphics - 9/10
Compared to most games that I have played or seen, CrossFire is definitely ranked very high in terms of graphics. Since the game is fairly new, the system requirements may be a bit high for some computers. Older computers with low quality graphic cards may not be able to run it, but if you're someone with an awesome graphics card, you'll experience never before seen graphics. The requirements include a minimum of a CPU of Pentium 4 - 1.5 GHz, 512mb in terms of memory, and a video card of GeForce 5600. To experience the fullest of the game, you should have a CPU of Pentium 4 - 2.0GHz and 1GB of memory, GeForce 6600 or better. To add, regardless of the CPU/memory/video card you have, you are required to have 1.2GB of Hard Disk space, Windows XP or Vista, Direct X of 9.0 or higher, and of course a stable internet connection. In game, you will experience the effective use of icons and images that advertise CrossFire wherever you go. I have never seen any other game do this before, at least not to the extent Z8 does. Good job, Z8.
Audio - 8/10
From my perspective, there isn't anything very special about the sound on CrossFire. Compared to any other FPS game, I think that they are all around the same. You're able to experience high quality sounds, to interpret where your enemy is located to sweep in a victory~ Although, there are many different types of characters you can choose from, each with their own unique voice and sounds from the radio commands.
Controls - 7/10
Nothing too special about the controls, just about the same as any other FPS game. I'm not sure if any other FPS games have this function, but CrossFire enables users to communicate with macros. Set phrases that can be entered with a click of a button at the users will.
Game Play - 10/10
Ohh yeah, now the good part! To start, CrossFire has up to 8 different unique game modes, over 20+ maps, 50+ character acessories, 35+ weapons, and growing with every patch released!
Like any other FPS game, there's an objective in certain game modes. You are either playing as Black List (BL), or Global Risk (GR). In this case, Black List are considered to be the 'bad guys' whose mission it is to cause massive destruction where ever they go... and in some cases with a bomb! Global Risk are considered to be your 'good guys,' and their mission is to stop Black List at all costs in order to bring peace to the world!
In terms of game modes, CrossFire consists of a few unique ones, including the much anticipated and exclusive Ghost Mode! A few of the modes include Search and Destroy, Team Death Match, Elimination, and Ghost Mode. Now add all those game modes to your choice of either knife only, pistol only, sniper only, or anything goes!
In Search and Destroy, the main objective is to either plant the bomb as Black List, or to defuse it once it is planted as Global Risk. In this mode, you only live once per round so if you manage to kill yourself that round, you will have to wait until the round finishes before you start playing again.
Team Death Match is a battle royale where you just keep killing and keep respawning after you die until the set amount of kills is reached to end the game! If you're into fast pace gaming and don't like to sit around and wait, then this is the mode for you!
Elimination is quite a unique game mode that I personally enjoy. Instead of starting off with a weapon in your hand, you are required to pick them off the floor. This mode is great for trying out different guns before you come to a consensus to purchase them.
And now... for the moment you've all been waiting for... GHOST MODE! This is my FAVORITE game mode. Since it is an exclusive game mode, that means that no other game has it! In this mode, you are required to plant the bomb as the Black List and the Global Risk are required to defuse it. Sound simple enough? Guess again! There's always a catch to it.
Just like any other FPS game, CrossFire has their own maps that are custom made from scratch! You will not be able to find any of the CrossFire maps in any other games, which makes this game very unique. As I mentioned earlier, in every map, there are many images and logos that advertise CrossFire to the best. Every corner you turn in every map you play, you will encounter high quality pictures of either the CrossFire logo, or just things that help advertise it.
As for the character accessories, most of them must be purchased using Z8 Points (ZP), which can be bought using real money. If you're someone who likes to dress up your character for looks, then this game suits you. There are just so many different combinations of accessories you can put on your character. Some for looks, some for performance. By performance, I mean stuff like BODY ARMOUR! As it sounds, body rmour can be bought to reduce damage you recieve, thus increaseing your survival rate.
Ahh yes, the weapons. CrossFire has so many different weapons that you'll freak out once you actually see how many weapons there are! In CrossFire, you earn GP which is used to purchase new items in the Item Mall. GP can be obtained at the end of every battle as a reward, as you rank up, or through the exchange of real money for the GP currency. Once you have a certain amount of GP, you can purchase weapons that are yours to keep! In most FPS games that I know of, you are required to purchase guns on a 'loan,' but in CrossFire, the weapon is yours forever. If purchasing weapons or character accessories with GP isn't enough, you can do it through ZP. ZP is the currency that be exchanged with using real money and it enables users a gaming edge, meaning that they can get exclusive items through the use of ZP. Weapons that contain a silencer, a scope, a camouflage, or maybe an extra clip of ammo. Remember, you do not have to pay a single penny unless you want to!
Fun Factor - 8/10
Every aspect of the game is almost at its best. With a few tweaks here and there, this game could easily rake in a few million players over the next year. Most people inside the game are fairly nice, with the exception of a few.
Learning Factor - 7.5/10
This game is definitely not something that is easy to grasp. Like any other game out there, you need to put in a lot of effort and practice in order to become good at this game. If you're completely new to First Person Shooter games, don't worry! CrossFire has a Rookie server where you and other newbies can battle it out as you start to learn the gaming basics.
Overall - 9/10
Overall, a game that is definitely worth a play. With all these exclusive and new features that no other games out there has, how could you refuse? The graphics are really good, sounds and controls are decent, game play is excellent, and the fun factor and learning factor are great as well. Best yet, it's all FREE! Personally, I hate having to pay for the games I play, but with CrossFire it makes everything easier. It's something that I can enjoy to the fullest without having to pay a single penny, unless I want to.
Screenshots; throughout the screenshots, you can observe and see how intense the gameplay is, as well as the terrific graphics that the game provides.
