Having played Legends of Xian (Lox) for a little over a month, here’s my impressions – both the good and the not so good about the game.

Game Description:

Lox is a fun, free-to-play browser-based strategy game set during China’s exotic Ming Dynasty. Combining role-play with war strategies, Lox was actually adapted from another popular Chinese creation, Ming Dynasty.

At sign-up:

Right after signing up, you will be asked to choose one of three states – Yongle, Wanli, and Hongwu. This seemed insignificant to me at first. I thought I was just choosing the color I want for my character, but it turns out to be a much more important decision, because the state you choose pretty much determines your allies and enemies in the game. You’ll see why later.

Did I like the choice I made even though I didn’t know what it was about? Yeah, sure. I like my state. But, I would’ve appreciated it better if I knew the significance of my choice.

Game Quality:

Once you login, users will be greeted by soothing Chinese folk music and crisp graphics. The music and image quality are really good and fits well with the game’s premise that you’ll really feel like a mighty hero working for one of the Ming’s 3 States.

The only problem is the text. Since the story of the Ming Dynasty plays a large part in your gameplay – every quest and NPC message takes inspiration from the Ming – the very simple English text loses some of the game’s magic. Is the English that bad? No. It could be improved, though.

Level of Play:

This is my favourite part of the game where the State you chose at sign-up comes to play. Unlike most games where it is just your player’s personal journey and strength that matters, in Lox, players also fight as small groups/clans during Clan Wars and in State Wars between the 3 States. Both wars take place daily and winners are given prizes or points, which makes it fun for everyone who participates.

This is where you need to be good in war strategy because if you want to win the State War, you will have to cooperate and strategize with fellow members of the State against the other states. What I like most, though, is the camaraderie and rivalry that develops within and between the Clans and States. I mean, if you’re going be working with people, you might as well try to get along, right?

Communication:

This is another good aspect of Lox. Players can communicate through the various chat channels – World for everyone, State for members of your state, Clan specifically for your clan, and Whisper if you want to chat one-on-one – or send in-game mail. So, with all these methods, I’m sure you’ll find a way to communicate that you’re comfortable with.

Scalable Difficulty

One of the things I notice in Lox is that new players always complain that the game is boring or too easy. What they don’t realize is that the game is EXTREMELY easy in the beginning and gets more difficult as you go on.

I think this is a good thing because it gives new players a chance to get to know the game without problems. Once they know its basics, the game actually gets progressively more difficult.

Imagine this, on your first day, you can get to level 20 or 30 in a few hours of play, but by the time you get to level 60 and up, it will take you days just to get one level higher. Not only that, as your player level grows, you also get do more tasks, and in turn, more challenges.

As for the boring comment, I have to admit that there can be dead moments in the game. But that’s just because most of the excitement happens at night during State and Clan Wars. It’s when most people get active, and when most events happen.

Sophisticated Weapons and Fighting

This is another aspect that really requires a lot of thinking. Let’s see if I can explain it clearly. In the game, it’s not actually the players fighting, but the player’s 6 heroes and their soldiers. The player is more like a general; and just like the player, the heroes also increase in level.

I won’t go into detail but you hire heroes like captains, and for every hero you assign troops. The heroes and troops have their specialties and stats that can be improved by upgrading them or giving them equipment.

There are also different sets of equipment with different stats and bonuses. All these equipment can be improved in quality (5 levels of quality), enhanced (by 1 to 12%), or gemmed (several gems with different stats).

Confusing, right? Well it sounds like it, but this is why the first few levels are so easy – so you won’t have to deal with these concepts right at the beginning. This also gives every player unique strengths – just because you and another player are both level 50, it doesn’t mean you are the same strength even if you started playing at the same time or even if you have the same equipment!

The Luck Factor

This is one aspect of the game I’m on the fence about – the fact that luck plays a large part of your gameplay. From getting equipment, to getting good heroes to fight for you, to improving your equipment, everything is left up to chance. Sure, you can get some items to “improve” your luck, but those items are either rare or expensive.

Although luck has been on my side every now and then, having to depend on it as much as I have to can be disheartening and frustrating sometimes. It’s fun when lady luck is on your side, but when she’s not, the game can be quite pitiless.

Forum Events and Contests

I like that game mods always try their best to keep things interesting by introducing events and contests in the forums. This keeps the forum lively and gives everyone a chance to win prices that they usually won’t get in the game.

Final Thoughts:

Personally, I like Lox. It’s a fun game, there are lots to do, and I really like the fact that you get to cooperate with others on a group and state level. The luck factor is something that I’ll have to deal with, but I guess if you put it in perspective, the odds are I’ll get lucky eventually. And besides, everyone has to go through it, right?

So there you have it, my review of the game. I might have left some parts because I wanted to focus on aspects that I have an opinion about. I mean, sure the game has a Treasure Hunt Feature, but its no use mentioning that because I don’t do it. There’s a Jiayu Pass Dungeon to test your skills, etc., but almost every Lox review already mentioned that. So, I decided to stick with the things I liked and didn’t like and left everything else for others to talk about.

Except from fantasy games, I am also in fond of simulation games. Because they give players a second chance to simulate real life experiences. And it is lucky that there are more and more good free sim mmos that even don’t need installed on PC. Anyway I wanna share my favourite top3 simulation browser based mmos with you guys.
1. Farmerama( http://www.famerama.bigpoint.com ) - Definitely my favourite free to play sim game. It has been heavily played and once got around 400,000 players online on a daily basis. Plant crops in the fields, raise animals, trade with neighbors or in your city life for a taster of the country, and so on. It makes me feel like a real farmer to build and manage my own farm into a successful agricultural enterprise. The goal in Farmerama is very simple, make (virtual) money and climb up the ranking of the best farmers. I think those who enjoy Farmville will love this game, coz it is much funnier and really worth playing.
2. Business Tycoon Online( http://bto.dovogame.com ) - It is another popular economic sim mmo where players can become an entrepreneur and manage their company. At first, you might start with a small shop. Then you have to try your best to widen your business scope and raise your social class. Finally you become owners of transnational enterprises through hard work. There are 4 industries including entertainment, catering, retailing and services. I choose the first one based on my interest. And with good looking and smart secretary to improve working efficiency, it is really enjoyable to live a life as a boss.
3. Trophy Manager( http://trophymanager.com ) - It is a free football management game where players take charge of their own soccer club. As a manager in TM, your job is to find and hire the perfect coaching staff, decide formation and tactics of your team before the game start, and expand the club’s infrastructure. I am a big fan of soccer. So running a football team is really exciting for me. If you are a soccer lover just like me, I guess you might like it.

Are you kidding me? Aesthetics including graphics and character design is only an added plus, which is definitely not the most important thing in a good game. They may seem nice at first, but that doesn't really affect the fun of the game. Even more, many games with good aesthetics are just Apple of Sodom, such as Crysis, Mass Effect, and Far Cry 2. In addition, sometimes excellent graphics are a double sided sword, coz players have to get a high hardware to run it.

Gameplay obviously comes first! It is the core structure of the game as a whole. If the main concept of the game doesn't work or isn't fun, it will totally ruin the game. Aesthetic will only get you so far if the gameplay is absolute shit. I won’t play any boring games even I like the way they look. And I used to have a lot of fun with some games with nice gameplay and bad graphics, such as Minecraft and Runescape.

In short, gameplay is far more important than Aesthetics. If the gameplay is good, then who the hell cares about the aesthetics.

Furthmore, below's my top 4 things that I look for in a good game.
1. Gameplay (According to what I have said above).
2. Storyline (A lot of games are very popular due to their great storyline, which makes me wanna play through the game again).
3. Aesthetics (Great graphics and art style will make a game better, but which is not the main point).
4. Sound (Without doubt, it is the least important).

Those P2P Switch To F2P MMOs

In recent years, more and more games started with a P2P system have switched to F2P, such as Lord of the Rings Online, Ragnarok Online 2, Age of Conan, Lineage II, DC Universe Online, Aion Online etc. Since I am a poor student, I have already played some of them. Below is my three favourite p2p to f2p MMOs.
1. AION. The most up to date MMO to move from p2p to f2p. When logged back to test my f2p account, I had that feeling of a classic old game still with faster combat, wonderful graphics, character fun fly with glide functions, and so on. It really deserves to be my Top 3 games. And it is pretty awesome that there is no monthly subscription fee, no charges for registration and client, complete and playable storyline with so many quests, character development up to level 55 possible, etc. And according to the recent announcement, Aion UA will go F2P as well and some new nice features will be added into the new update 3.0. I think it is a great opportunity for Aion to bring back many old players .

2.Lord of the Rings Online. Made after the awesome book and film, it is a great game with classically styled over the battles, haunting music, beautiful graphics etc. And it proved the truth that P2P to F2P was definitely not a bad idea for game companies. As far as I know, after moving to the F2P model, it got a huge boost in player base population and also got the revenue increase by duplicated. I was not surprised of its huge success at all. It is one of the best classic MMOs on the market. Why not enter it if it is free?

3. Age of Conan. A great F2P MMORPG with a ton of content. As well as LOTRO, Age of Conan saw 300,000 sign up after free-to-play switch, and got double revenue in first month. It once again proved that the F2P model was a great choice nowadays. It is really sweet that the magnificent world of Hyboria is free for all players to adventure in. I do enjoy the game for the most part. Because compared to other similar games, it is unchained and the grinding is kept to a minimumsuch.

Free MMORPG Gamers love games that come with features that a different, even if that game doesn’t offer a ton of things that are different, a feature that isn’t seen a hundred times before is very welcome. When that feature allows the gamer to transform themselves into a dragon, and become a powerful force. Things really get interesting.
Dragona Online, a free to play MMORPG from GameClub, is offering players just this opportunity. This is one of a few features that Dragon Online has put together to allure players to the gaming world of Bartan. Is it enough that you should pay attention to Dragona? We will take a look at this and many of the other features that the game brings to the table below.
Character Creation

Getting started in Dragona can be an interesting affair. For me I had a few issues getting the game to send me a confirmation email. I ended up having to abandon my gaming email and register a free account with a free service which finally allowed me to register and get the confirmation email. This was a very minor inconvenience, but one that should be noted in the event that someone else has a similar situation.
Once logged in, the standard process of logging in, selecting a secondary password, and then selecting a server were all there. At this time the game only has one server, so not many options there.
After we were logged in, we moved quickly to the character creation process. The games options here can be disappointing to some users as the character classes are gender locked. So, while there is a good amount of variety, there are still some gameplay types that may not be available to a player unless one is willing to play the opposite sex.
Also, not all classes are playable by all races, this is something that players are a bit more accustomed to though. There are four races, each with two character classes. With classes ranging the gambit of the standard archetypes that players are use to, Tanks, Healers, DPS, and Ranged DPS.
During the character creation process you will have several aesthetic choices, face, hair style, and hair color, and one transformation choice. When choosing your initial dragon transformation choice, a play will want to pay attention to their character class of choice as well as playing style. The initial dragon transformation selection will give players the opportunity to determine which body part they will be able to transform from the start of their adventures. With this decision comes specific bonuses that can be very helpful to players as they start their journey. So choose wisely.

Interface and Combat

Now that we have our character created we jumped into the game and quickly into the action. Dragona wastes no time running you around the game world on mundane tasks to learn controls or interface options. They have tips that show you the basics, but these come up as you are in the thick of battle and leveling your character. Leveling up comes regularly and with it comes skill points. You will have many skill options, so once again the player will get to pick and choose how they build their character. This is nice as the character creation process seemed to lack options, the skill system more than makes up for deficiency.
The games interface is also nice and clean and easy to use. It isn’t overly cluttered with options and leaves the screen open for the player to focus their attention on the gaming world and the action. If you have played any free MMORPG in the past, you will quickly find your way around the hotkey shortcuts and have no problem quickly immersing yourself into the gaming world.
Right from the start a player is also given quests to accomplish. One of the nicest features here is that you do not have to find an NPC or travel long distances to turn in quests. You establish a communication link that allows you to communicate and complete quests from where ever you are in the world and quickly gain your rewards. Some quests will require you to find certain NPCs, but the games autopathing system quickly will take you to where you need to go, so you are not endlessly searching.

Dragon Transformation

Who doesn’t want to turn into an all powerful fire breathing flying dragon. Well, you are going to have to tame your expectations a bit on the fire breathing and flying part. While the game does boast dragon transformations, the dragons are a bit different in this world. You will start out only being able to transform one body part, and as previously mentioned, you will want to choose which body part wisely. Each body part has bonuses that will help you during your adventures. As you gain more transformations you will be able to have multiple body parts transformed, until you are able to do a full transformation and really take advantage of the bonuses that come with this feature.

PvP

PvP in Dragona is not only fun, but it is highly rewarding. You will have to level up to 15 before you can take part in the action, but this does not take more than a few hours of gameplay to accomplish. Once you are able to participate in the PvP action, you will find yourself able to earn not only PvP gear rewards, but also Experience.
PvP battles happen every 2 hours in the game world and players are notified approximately 1 minute before a battle is able to begin. Selecting to participate will add the player to a battle where they will combat against other players to reap the rewards as the victor of the battle. As the winner you will earn points that can be redeemed for gear and other items. With PvP being a great way to earn experience, expect many of the games players to be taking part in every battle, and it to become the focus of almost every players leveling scheme.

Graphics and Sounds

Graphically, Dragona Online is gorgeous! The game world looks amazing, the skill and spell animations are very well done. With many different environments to see as a player travels through the world there will always be something to catch your eye. The character models are not too hard on the eyes as well. With most of the female characters sporting some form of fleshy enticement through their armor, whether it be cleavage, side boob, under boob, or a mix of all of the above. It was clear that the female toons were meant to allure the male audience.

The Final Word

While being able to transform into a dragon is a really neat feature, it is actually not the best feature that Dragona has to offer. This is a positive in our eyes, as the game has so many quality features, and truly shows that the developers took the time to see what gamers enjoy and built a game with that in mind. Creating a beautiful gaming world is just half the battle for a developer. Throwing in a few unique features and you really have something. Then put together a highly rewarding and fun PvP system, quality crafting and item enhancement system, and much more.
Dragona is a solid offering to a list of free MMORPGs that is getting very long. Long gone are the days of being able to just spit out anything and gamers will flock to it. It is nice to see that Dragona’s developers and publisher took that to heart and made sure to deliver a quality product that gamers will love for a long time.

One of the very exciting moments here is when you were level 23 cause that time you are not safe anymore and the thrill and excitement is in there when anybody might PK you on the spot. Each body part has bonuses that will help you during your adventures. As you gain more transformations you will be able to have multiple body parts transformed, until you are able to do a full transformation and really take advantage of the bonuses that come with this feature.

PvP

PvP in Dragona is not only fun, but it is highly rewarding. You will have to level up to 15 before you can take part in the action, but this does not take more than a few hours of gameplay to accomplish. Once you are able to participate in the PvP action, you will find yourself able to earn not only PvP gear rewards, but also Experience.
PvP battles happen every 2 hours in the game world and players are notified approximately 1 minute before a battle is able to begin. Free MMORPG Gamers love games that come with features that a different, even if that game doesn’t offer a ton of things that are different, a feature that isn’t seen a hundred times before is very welcome. When that feature allows the gamer to transform themselves into a dragon, and become a powerful force. Things really get interesting.
Dragona Online, a free to play MMORPG from GameClub, is offering players just this opportunity. This is one of a few features that Dragon Online has put together to allure players to the gaming world of Bartan. Is it enough that you should pay attention to Dragona? We will take a look at this and many of the other features that the game brings to the table below.

Character Creation

Getting started in Dragona can be an interesting affair. For me I had a few issues getting the game to send me a confirmation email. I ended up having to abandon my gaming email and register a free account with a free service which finally allowed me to register and get the confirmation email. This was a very minor inconvenience, but one that should be noted in the event that someone else has a similar situation.
Once logged in, the standard process of logging in, selecting a secondary password, and then selecting a server were all there. At this time the game only has one server, so not many options there.
After we were logged in, we moved quickly to the character creation process. The games options here can be disappointing to some users as the character classes are gender locked. So, while there is a good amount of variety, there are still some gameplay types that may not be available to a player unless one is willing to play the opposite sex.
Also, not all classes are playable by all races, this is something that players are a bit more accustomed to though. There are four races, each with two character classes. With classes ranging the gambit of the standard archetypes that players are use to, Tanks, Healers, DPS, and Ranged DPS.
During the character creation process you will have several aesthetic choices, face, hair style, and hair color, and one transformation choice. When choosing your initial dragon transformation choice, a play will want to pay attention to their character class of choice as well as playing style. The initial dragon transformation selection will give players the opportunity to determine which body part they will be able to transform from the start of their adventures. With this decision comes specific bonuses that can be very helpful to players as they start their journey. So choose wisely.

Interface and Combat

Now that we have our character created we jumped into the game and quickly into the action. Dragona wastes no time running you around the game world on mundane tasks to learn controls or interface options. They have tips that show you the basics, but these come up as you are in the thick of battle and leveling your character. Leveling up comes regularly and with it comes skill points. You will have many skill options, so once again the player will get to pick and choose how they build their character. This is nice as the character creation process seemed to lack options, the skill system more than makes up for deficiency.
The games interface is also nice and clean and easy to use. It isn’t overly cluttered with options and leaves the screen open for the player to focus their attention on the gaming world and the action. If you have played any free MMORPG in the past, you will quickly find your way around the hotkey shortcuts and have no problem quickly immersing yourself into the gaming world.

Hey guys, the CBT of this game just ended recently. Its called Valiant. From the looks of it, the game has a lot of potential. Currently, the game is set for its open beta testing this coming February 28. I was fortunate enough to be included on its closed beta testing. I got few screen shots here so you guys can have a good idea of it. Let's discuss. :

Vampires, Darkness and DarkEden

Nowadays, people are mostly attracted to any Vampire-related things. First there's the movie, Twilight, for TV shows there is The Vampire Diaries even anime got Blood: the Last Vampire. To be honest I myself is a fan of vampire-themed things too and also I’m an avid fan of 2D games like Diablo, Torchlight and Shanks. If only there’s a vampire themed-online game out there…

I logged to Google and searched for any vampire themed online game and saw the game called, DarkEden: Revenge of the Masters, and without hesitation, I had searched for more infos about the game and looked for gameplay videos on Youtube. I was so excited when I saw the gameplay and said “Oh Sh*t! It just looked like Diablo!” I instantly looked for the official website to grab a copy of the installer and installed it.

Currently, I’m a level 173 Mage Vampire. (*showing off* xD)

What I like most about DarkEden is about it being vampire themed, it’s horror features and the background music! I love DarkEden’s background music! I even added it on my music player LOL.

(Yes, I’m that Gargolye-look-like-bat inside one of the Dungeons in Darkeden)

They also have tons of events, recently DarkEden have Christmas Event (Rudolf),War Events, and Friday the 13th Event (My most favorite). They also have many game patches and updates,

Unlike other online games that I had previously played, DarkEden’s GMs and their Customer Support Team is always online! Actually one of the game’s GMs said that this coming March there will be a big update on the game! Wooohooo! That means there’s a big possibility of having New Maps! New Monsters! (I really wish that they have this kind of updates LOL) I’m really excited about this! =D

Hi! Guys, I've been playing Dragona for quite awhile now and It just happened that I bumped into this game while I was googling for new Free to Play MMORPG. Actually I started Playing Dragona Korea due to curiousness, why? I saw their gameplay and graphics at youtube. Actually I did a reseach about this game and It was awesome. It's like WOW combined with Aion with more additives like Dragon Transformations and more. Also what intrigue me most that made me play this game is the Battle style, why? I think this game is build for battle since they have different types ob battle systems like Battle of Celebration and Battle of Death, that is held hourly and its your choice if you join it. Also they have a PK system starting at lv 23. My friends and I tried to PK players however we were the ones killed haha.. Its also your choice if you PK and there are many consequences. Anyway since i can’t understand korean I found out that Philippines has an English version of Dragona and my friends and I moved there to learn more.

I realized that we are now attracted with the boast of fast paced action pack gaming like Dragon Nest or even those Online Games like Grand Chase and others. In my point of view, vampires seem to be all the rage these days. With the recent success of the Twilight series both on-screen and in print, interest in vampires shows no signs of slowing. Why, then are there so few quality vampire MMORPGs available? Most are text-based and over simplistic, but Dark Eden, a free to play vampire MMORPG from Ignited Games, is one example of a fully-featured, Diablo-style online game.
Dark Eden is set in the near future. Three races of characters, Vampires, Slayers, and Ousters, compete for control of the Republic of Eslania. Each of the three races has unique skills, strengths and weaknesses, and game play systems.

The game also features a unique night and day system. As the game time cycles through, races gain advantages and disadvantages. Vampires, for example, are more powerful during the night, while Slayers and Ousters gain certain advantages during the day.

PvP is a big part of Dark Eden. Aside from a few sanctuary zones, players are pretty much free to engage and slay each other at will. There are no restrictions on PvP combat, so high-levels are freely able to engage new players with no repercussions.

Each of the three races progresses through the ranks in a different way. Slayers need only attack a monster or another player to gain experience points. Vampires, on the other hand, have to drink an enemy’s blood to gain full benefit of the kill. Ousters must kill enemies to gain experience.

The inventory system will look familiar to anyone who has played Diablo. A simple grid denotes available inventory space and players drag items onto inventory slots on their character’s paper doll in order to equip them.

Combat is very Diablo-esque as well. Players simply left-click on a monster to attack it, and use the right mouse button to cast spells or use special attacks.

Each of the three races also has unique transportation options. Slayers gain the ability to ride motorcycles between locations, Vampires are able to transform into bats and wolves, and Ousters can summon elementals and teleport using an item called “Earth of Horn Totem.”

One very unique feature of the game is the ability for some players to change their race at will. Slayers bitten by Vampires can become Vampires themselves and Vampires who wish to become human again can do so. Ousters, unfortunately, cannot change races.

I learned this news from the official website of Conquer Online that the game is going to expand in the spring of 2012 and the new class pirate is going to be released! I checked the picture, it looks very cool and I just wonder if there is anybody here in this forum playing Conquer too? I’ve quit for quite some time and this new class makes me want to come back. Gun, pistol, sword…what else? The female pirate looks so evil and sexy, a little bit…hahha I’ve also heard that there will be a new map of sea open up and new monsters crunching….ummm…so…I am gonna try it. You?

Rosh Online: is it worth it?

I've been looking for a new game to play and coincidentally Ignited Games will be releasing a game called Rosh Online: The Return Of Karos. I’ve been playing Wind Slayer 2 for quite some time now, that’s when I became a huge fan of Ignited Games. So every time Ignited Games announces a new game is coming, I want to be the first one to try it.

An upgraded version?
Scoured the internet for almost an hour, I’ve learned a few things about the game. I was stunned for a minute when I learned that Rosh Online is the upgraded version of Karos Online. I have played Karos before. Well what can I say? It’s quite interesting but misses a few things. My first impression actually is, it reminds me of WoW. The idea of quest-based RPG, really get me going but sometimes it’s a trouble to navigate to those quests. If Rosh is the upgraded version then there were lots of things that were changed for the better.

After signing up to Rosh’s official site, I started to surf a little and discovered a lot of things to expect in the game. The game boasts its level up system, so expecting that players will not get bored in gaining levels compare to Karos Online. Players can also do quests to level up with Navigation System to guide through the quest and hope that this system is much better than its predecessor. They have also EID or short for Extreme Instance Dungeon which I don’t think is in Karos Online. So I assume this is going to be an exciting dungeon battle with a twist. Rosh has Guild War, Arena Battle System and the action-packed Siege War too. They also have their own Pet System with its own level up options. Just like Karos, Rosh will be implementing vehicles as a mean of transportation in the game. Could they have changed it to some other type or could they have added different mounts in the collection?

I’m really hoping that playing Rosh would be different with what I have experienced from Karos which is actually a little disappointing especially when the game offers a lot but they haven’t exploited it that much.

So guys what do you think of this kind of game? Have you encountered any similar games that have been upgraded before? Does it work?

I played the cbt of windslayer, on their fan page on facebook. GM of windslayer2 posted that they have a new mmorpg that will release soon . That’s a Rosh Online: the return of karos. I am a player of Karos Online I hope on this new version, skills are cool down faster and basically the movements of character would be more accurate on the skills that casted (more effects).
I expect more portal zone for every corner of the map so that is not difficult to go back to town and go back on the quest maps because I have experienced it in karos doing the quests/chain quests in the same mobs it takes a lot of time to travel using the mount. In this newest version I hope they have a jail for those player got -1000 mv and need to bail at least 500k for every -1000mv in the other games they called it prison because some player has an attitude problem they bullied those low levels.
This is one thing important as a player. Time is gold. In karos online if you enter the chat box you’re character is automatically stopped. Most of the players now can do multi tasking like running while chatting. Killing mobs while chatting. I hope in Rosh Online they can develop it so that I can run and chatting at the same time. I want also they can level up faster and have more quests for each level with different monsters, most of the chain quests in karos are focusing in one mob and it just repeating and repeating its get me bored. For the dungeon I hope there’s a reward like enchant scroll for armors/weapons or skulls that gives more attribute for weapon, once the dungeon is complete. Because in karos you can enter the dungeon by quest or for leveling purpose but once you have killed the boss you can’t get anything aside from the exp.
I got the problem about the fletta attribute I had a mistake of using the appropriate element for my class and I don’t use it anymore that’s why I choose to create new character and back to level 1. I hope in Rosh they will given a chance to restart the FP atleast once to right their mistakes about the element they have been chosen. About the enchanting armors or weapons I hope in rosh they add effects for the +4 +7 +9 and +13 examples in +4 shining with the silver color effects +7 shining with a color orange effects and +9 shining with a color orange and yellow effects. This would give more attraction to the players.
Aside from this in the other game they called it dead front battle. This is a team-based event, which is up to four parties competing at the end (killing each other). The main goal of this event is to kill the boss and then survive a free-for-all battle. The last team standing becomes the Supreme Warriors and they can get a reward after it like exp,rare items and scroll for upgrading the weapons and armor.mostly this event is everyday at least twice a day I hope Rosh has an event like this. It gives more thrills on game. I’m excited and looking forward to play the Rosh Online and try the new updates on the game.

Rosh: The Return of Karos
I’ve been playing WonderKing for long and I really love the game. Some days ago I saw a new post from Wonder King’s Facebook Fanpage that Ignited Games will be releasing another game which will be call “Rosh: The Return of Karos”. I got really excited since I played Karos Online for some months and now Ignited Game will be handling this new game! Sure this really excites me!

Wait what’s new?
When WonderKing’s Official Facebook Fanpage announced the said game, I immediately checked Ignited Games’ Official website for more info about the new game. I thought it would be the same as the Karos Online so I really didn’t mind but then it’s IGNITED GAMES we’re talking out here so for sure this will be better. I had my research for the releasing date and some info about the new version of Karos Online. Based from their Facebook Offician Fanpage they’ll be releasing Rosh: The Return of Karos November this year 2011.

Based from http://mmohuts.com there will be a lot new things in this game like more quest, events, guild skirmishes, castle sieges, PvP and more EXP and Fletta progression system.
As I do my research about the new game, the more it catches my attention and eagerness to play the game. As seen from my article above this game is a must see game since this game has its own unique features and now on their upgraded version.

Lastly, Rosh Online: The Return of Karos will be releasing their close beta; eager players (like me) can register for their chance to be the first to play the game.

Overview
Rise of Immortals is a Free-To-Play Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA). The game has a strong focus on team-based scenarios with support for both Player vs. Player and Co-Op game modes.

Inspired by popular MOBA games Defence of the Ancients (DOTA) and League of Legends (LoL), players can engage in fierce combat in both Ranked and Co-Op matches. Players are able to gain levels, win gold to enhance items, and unlock abilities to give that competitive edge over other players.

Review
Rise of Immortals is a Free to Play MMO based around the popular ‘Aeon of Strife’ gaming genre, which includes games like Defence of the Ancients (DotA), Heroes of Newerth (HoN) and League of Legends (LoL). In essence, you’ll be given a choice from one of twelve Immortals, and asked to team up with other players to defeat teams composed of enemy players and/or AI opponents.

Rise of Immortals offers several different modes, including 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 and 3 PVE. In 3 PVE (Player vs. Environment) you are placed with two other players and must work together to defeat enemy minions. Doing so will allow you to gain experience and gold that can be used to purchase upgrades, attack enemy AI Immortals, defend your base and, ultimately, destroy your enemies. In, 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5, your goals are the same; however, instead of AI opponents you be matched against enemy players.

Unlike other MOBA’s, Rise of Immortals has a certain casual playstyle to it, which offers it a unique advantage over other hardcore titles in the genre. While playing I was able to pick the game up quickly, which meant I didn’t have to spend two days playing against the AI before I could step into the arena with actual players. And the community, though only small, is a vibrant and friendly place. I was amazed at all the help other players gave me, offering advice on which upgrades, Immortals and attack paths I should choose.

As with most other titles in this genre, you can purchase upgrades which help assist you in defeating your enemies and defending your base. These items increase attack damage, critical strike chance, mana, health and armour, and also potions, which help to get you out of sticky situation and back home to heal.

These items are purchased with gold that is earned from slaying enemies on the battlefield. Choosing the right items for your style of play can be difficult at first, so there are many recommended items that are displayed at the top of the shop menu. After getting to know where your weaknesses lay, you can increase those areas and take full advantage of your Immortals strengths, and each Immortal has a unique реrk branch on thеir skill trее which allows you to customize your Immortal even further.

Rise of Immortals also features a ‘cash store’ where you are able to buy new skins for your characters, and new Immortals to better suit your preferences. Most of these purchases simply offer small aesthetic changes to look of your Immortals; however, there are some which really stood out from the pack, such as the Michael Jackson skin for Netheurgist, which was very tempting to buy, and the Grim Reaper skin for Lazarus, which I did buy.

On the negative side, I did find some balance issues between some of the Immortals which, in certain situations, let to some very frustrating events. Aislynn and Ichorr, for example, are described as ‘support tanks’, though in reality they often fill a much larger role (read: they kill you so quickly that you’ll be afraid to ever leave your base again).

In summary, Rise of Immortals is a great Free to Play game, and it a much needed addition to the genre. Too often in the MOBA genre are casual players left out of the mix, and it’s nice to see a game that caters to a less competitive audience. Sadly, balance issues with some of the Immortals do need attention, and the matchmaking system is less than perfect, but the friendly community and ‘casual’ atmosphere make it a must-play for those new to the genre and looking for their start.

While searching for a new game I saw Dragona Online in some sites. A little bit of curiosity struck my head to check it out. I saw that the game has a good graphics, the female characters of the game was stunning, and while watching their videos the PvP of the game is massive. The type of game I’m looking for. I tried the Philippine version of Dragona and I enjoy it. Heads up they have this transformation that will change you into a dragon. For me that’s the coolest part of it. And now this December I saw that there will be a Global version of Dragona that’s why I’m looking forward to play it again. Joymax announced to launch Digimon Masters Online next week on October 25, and the game will be available across the world in English for the first time. I remember playing the game Rift when it first arrived in the US market a while ago, I believe back then it was in a closed beta (allowing all users to connect, before their subscription mode was switched on). Recently I got restless, so I decided to re-download the game client to Rift. The file size for these sorts of games always shocks me, it was around 10 GB. Having said that, the download rate was extremely fast and I had it completed in about 2 hours.

Before Rift I played AION for almost a year, and I enjoyed every aspect of the game, except for the fact that the Oceanic community was disappearing fast, especially when they merged the servers together. I tend to get impressed by visuals both passive and active (i.e. skills and combat). I found Aion quite unique and it did raise the standard in online role playing. So back to Rift! The game consists of two races the Guardians and Defiants. Each race has a selection of four (4) classes: Warrior, Cleric, Rogue and Mage. The great thing about this game is that each class has eight (8) sub-classes that can be mixed and matched however you like.

For instance I just created a mage on the defiant side and decided to be a Pyromancer as my primary. My secondary was becoming an Elementalist, and lastly my final tree was Stormcaller. All of these selections are made before you reach level 10 in the game (the newbie starting zone, before you are released into the real world!). The fact they have an Oceanic server, was definitely a plus for me - as I hated purchasing access to a proxy server to reduce my latency (like I did when I played Aion!). So if you are from Australia or New Zealand, then it is definitely a must pick game. The skills and combat is also quite good, not my style of fast paced combat with moves from Tekken or Devil May Cry, but it is satisfactory for my standards. Personally, I enjoy the fast paced spamming action like you see in Dragon Nest.

The levelling or grind in game is O.K. It took me two days (around 4-6 hours on each day) to finally reach level 20. When you enter the real zones after level 10, you will notice on the map that rifts literally open in front of you and spawn different types of monsters (i.e. nature, death, water, etc.). These rifts are fantastic to gain lots of experience points from, but also drops and gold (in-game currency). The game has several forms of currency, ones related to purchasing your standard items like potions and weapons, and then other forms of currency obtained through PvP used to purchase elite gear.

The great thing is when global events take part, for instance last night when I was playing the entire world turned black and death rifts were spawning all over the map. It was literally an invasion by the NPC forces to take over our towns. As I tried to run to satiety (being only level 17 at the time), I found myself in a small party which soon turned into a massive raid or alliance. As we roamed around we began destroying rifts and incoming forces. Among the forces contained elite monsters and other humungous bosses that enveloped my 24" LCD screen. The event lasted for about an hour, until we destroyed most of the invading forces and took down the elite generals that had spawned. I think during this hour I increased my characters level from 17 to 19. I also obtained some nice drops and lots of gold!

The economy in the game is O.K. I suppose it is too early to judge, but having an auction house makes things very easy to sell and buy. The drop rate in game is also good, with constant items and material dropping from monsters. Most of the drops I just sell to an NPC, however weapons I tend to place on the auction house. Items in the game also come in various grades, like common, rare, very rare, etc. I found a couple of blue drops from a rift last night, which is awesome!

I also tried out one of their dungeons last night. I think it was a level 20'ish dungeon. The mini bosses pretty much drop blue drops without any problems. The rolling system is also quite fair, with need and greed options available. The great thing is that when you complete the dungeon you obtain a rare box that you can open, which contains blue items that you can equip or sell. In addition, you obtain experience and gold for completing the dungeon.

Lastly, I tried the PvP content with my awesome mage. The first PvP arena is called "The Black Gardens" which you can access quite early on. I think this arena is 8 vs. 8. The PvP is based on competing with the two races, to see which side can obtain 500 points to win. In the middle of the map is a fang, which is like capture the flag. Holding this fang increases your points per second. The next PvP arena I discovered at level 20 is called the Codex, it feels like a mini-fortress war - based on how many flags you can claim and hold. Overall, the PvP is quite addicting and the rewards obtained allow you to purchase elite gear from level 35 onwards.

In general, the game is definitely a must try title. If I was to award a rating or score out of 10 I would have to give it an 8.5/10. Well done, Trion Worlds. If you want to check out more please visit their official website here.

Empire Rising: First Impressions

World history had always been part of strategic browser games. It usually involves establishment and rise to power, as well as the clash of conflicting beliefs and even the downfall of rivaling states. Empire Rising is all about the conflict of between the Christians and the Muslims. It mainly focuses on the war between the English and French in the West, as well as Ottomans and Prussians in the East. As the Dark Ages are coming into an end, only one powerful kingdom will remain.
Players must focus on building an empire and strengthening it by conquering other rivaling nations. They have the option to choose from the following states: England, France, Turkey and Prussia and assign which region will they establish their empire. They can also establish alliances with neighboring nations. Whatever strategy will be used by the players, the goal remains the same: to rise as the most powerful kingdom.

As a first time player of a browser-based strategic game, I often find these games pretty boring because the higher the level, the longer the waiting time for the upgrade to finish and no actual action nor cut scenes can be watched in order to entertain the players. I also find it repetitive and cyclical, though it visibly shows the changes in time and technology progression of certain eras. It was a mystery to me what made the players play these for a very long time. In other words, these kinds of games for me require a lot of patience and reading, which I find it quite common in browser games.

While playing Empire Rising, although there are some impressions that were still intact, I find this game unusually entertaining. Despite the lack of visual action content, it is up to the player's imagination to fill everything up. Getting all the resources is quite a challenge especially when it comes to utilizing and allocating these in different facilities and forces. Even if I need to wait for the quests to finish, I can also do other quests simultaneously as long as the system allows it, which is also convenient and less hassle. It also gives me an idea how it was like during that period. How the technology was like and how it evolved over time. What I also like about this game is that I experience less system bugs. As for the graphics, it is not as intense compared to other games but it elaborately presents the developing empire in miniature size.

Overall, Empire Rising gave me a great impression as a strategy game. The game quests and tutorial are easy to follow, the rewards are sufficient enough in terms of quantity and also it gives the players an opportunity to ally with others and sometimes even with enemies in order to crush a similar threat to their homelands. Despite the waiting time, it gives me more opportunities to do more incoming quests, explorations, researches and do conquests and expansions.

This game definitely gave me a challenge on interacting and managing a town along with other fellow players instead of the usual AI. Not much attractive in terms of the grinding part but definitely worth it as the developments immediately reflect on the rising empire. In this game, all I can is, just like my favorite console game, history is definitely our playground.

Empire Rising, a new browser-based strategy game set in 15th century Europe, which allow players to forge an empire of their very own as one of four factions: the English, French, Ottomans, or Prussians. The game presents a unique mix of strategy and MMORPG elements for players to explore and enjoy; city building strategy elements allow players to direct the growth of their town and expand to control multiple towns while recruiting and directing armies.
