Closed Beta Giveaway - Part Two, Forum Event.

CGE Network & TQ Digital have come together to bring our gamers and new and wonderful event. We will be giving away 300 closed beta keys for their new upcoming title, The Warlords ( http://wl.91.com/ ).

The event will be split into two (2) parts.
Part #1 - 150 Closed beta keys added onto Key Distribution System (or KDS).
Part #2 - 150 Closed beta keys added onto the forums (giving away 15 keys per day, for 10 days).

1. Ensure you have a registered account at CGE Network. If you do not have one yet, click here!

2. To participate in this event you simply need to reply to this topic and describe in ONE word, what you think about The Warlords Online?

At the end of each day (24 hours) 15 users will be selected to obtain a closed beta key for The Warlords.
** The forum event will not open until all 150 keys from the KDS have been taken.

RULES:
* You can only reply once, per account.
* Ensure you clearly mark your ONE word reply.
* Multiple IP addresses will result in disqualification.
* Part Two, will only commence after part one keys have been distributed.
* Event starts on the 20th March, 2009.

Premium Member Packages

The CGE Network is considered a non-profit organisation, were we rely on advertising to help pay the standard bills such as domain hosting, domain name fees, monthly bandwidth, forum support fees and so on. The extra fund we receive from donations or premium packages goes towards paying the necessary bills, but also a percentage is taken and left in a seperate account which the CGE Network uses to host events, purchase new systems and make the portal and forums more enjoyable for all of its members.

[ How many packages are there to choose from? ]
Currently there are only two (2) main packages.

Gold Membership ($3.98 USD every 3 months)

If you select any of the above packages you can choose to stop at any time and you will not receive any penalties. For example, if member ABC purchases a gold membership in March 2007, they will have the option to continue their package in June 2007 - if member ABC refuses to continue he/she will be placed as a normal "Registered Member" rather than "Gold Member".

As you have all probably heard, China was struck by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake a few days ago and the death toll is constantly going up. Already government officials predict up to 200,000 people dead. Rather than sitting down on our computers, we can work together to help the citizens of China - even if it is just a little bit!

Starting from today (Tuesday, 13th May) until 27th May 2008. CGE Network will be donating 20 cents for every topic and/or reply to a Charity foundation which is targeted at helping the citizens of China.

Appearently the rules as they are stated in this sticky about the do's and don'ts are still unclear to some of our users.
So you can either read the sticky or follow the list below about what you can't do.

You can NOT:
1. Place links to sites that support KalOnline Private Servers.
2. Ask or answer questions about how to setup, fix or get to private servers.
3. advertise in any means how to get information about private servers. This includes, but is not limited to, contact through PM, msn, email or chat.

Users who fail to follow these simple rules will receive a warning and/or ban.

The following measures will be taken for the above rules.
1. Immediate ban. No discussion.
2. First offense: Formal warning.
Second offense: 1 week suspension.
Third offense: Ban
3. First offense: Formal warning.
Second offense: Posting ability disabled for a week.
Third offense: 1 week suspension.
Fourth offense: Ban

These rules have been discussed a long time ago and have since been approved. Some of you have received an informal warning from me regarding these rules. Noone will get such a warning again. All warnings received from now on will be formal and will remain on your "rap-sheet".

ps. It is also possible to check Private Messages for private server content. Thusfar we did not feel the need to do this, but we can. Should this happen in the future, then the person(s) being caught will received an instant ban. No discussion possible.

Dear Members,

The CGE Network has now got a running Points system referred to as the "CGE Point System". In which all registered members gain CGE Points for posting topics, polls or making replies.

[ How much points do i receive? ]
All registered members will receive a bonus 100 CGE Points when they sign-up to the forums!

Posting a topic:- 20 points
Posting a poll:- 20 points
Posting a reply:- 10 points

[ What happens with all the points i collect? ]
The points you collect can be used on current or future systems and/or events within the CGE Network. Such as exchanging 2000 points for an upgraded user option. Kind of like a shop to spend your CGE Points.

[ Can points be awarded or taken away? ]
Every now and then the CGE Network will host small events which will award winners a number of CGE Points. Taking away CGE Points is unlikely to occur, instead we would use the warn system to disable posting, etc if the issue(s) are serious.

Any form of fraud in regards to the CGE Points, however, will result in a suspension with the loss of CGE Points.

[ How can i view how many CGE Points i have? ]
Your CGE Points can be viewed in your profile or in any topic which you had posted or made a reply too. The Points are displayed on your left bar, under your avatar and post count.

[ If i have submitted some guides, will i get extra points? ]
Good point. The answer is, Yes.
However, you MUST let us know when you have made a guide and submitted the guide in the correct section.

Dear Members and Guests,

As some of you may have noticed KalCentral forums were hacked by a person called, ZimElite.
ID: 49 (probably Tez's account being hacked).
Nick: ZimElite
Password: 1498f5bfb7861a1e339acec62713132d
Email: zimownz@yahoo.com
IP: 212.238.217.96

The person referred to ZimElite is infact Tez's Admin Account. The hacking occurring around 3pm (+8.00GMT). Once i was informed by other staff members and even members about the situation i changed CHMOD permissions so that only myself could view the forums. This was enough time for me to use MySQL to vaporise the hacker(s) from the system. As a result the account, ZimElite (Tez) was removed from the database.

When the forums were taken over all Admin and MOD's were deleted by the hacker. As a result a lot of topics once made by us are now refered to as
"-ZoRrO-" which shows that the user, ZoRrO is unregistered. This is no big deal, but its just to let you know what it means.

The reason the forums were hacked due to the staff members low grade passwords, which could have been cracked with no trouble at all. That is why all ADMIN's and MOD's will not receive any admin powers until i have been told of their new "super" passwords. I suggest all members change their passwords so that they are classified as a "super" password.

Passwords such as; hellopeter, qwerty, abcdefg are useless and easy to be cracked by hackers.

Passwords which are considered "super" passwords are passwords which are much harder to crack by hackers, such as the following; abc0015^^ or peter@115+

Please ensure your passwords are not easily cracked by "guessing hackers". Passwords which contain your real name, in game name(s), addresses, phone numbers can easily be accessed by people close to you.

Having your forum nickname as "Peter" with a password of "petterowns" is useless. Having your in game name as "L33t" and having your password as "johndabest" when your real name is John, is also useless.

Use this opportunity to change your passwords!

We have just installed a new update called the "Clicker!" on the Army Generals system. This system will enable you to share your clicker link (located at the bottom of your base information page), with other members or guests to help increase your army size, gold and turns!

What do i get per person who clicks?
1 soldier
500 gold
1 turns

How many times can one IP click my link?
Once per 24 hours (or once per day).

What happens if i try to cheat the system?
Not a wise idea. This system has one of the best tracking IP modifications i have ever seen - on a forum that is. Multiple IP's or Proxy Servers are detected automatically and your account name is emailed to the ADMIN's of the CGE Network for direct inspection. If our logs show the same statistics we will close your Army General's account forever!

Where exactly do i view or copy my clicker link?

Dear Members,

Although this has not been mentioned within the code of conduct of CGE (or rules), we would like to point out that any user(s) who try to gain access into the ACP whether its by simply guessing the direct path or gaining external links to reach the login page - will face an instant IP Ban.

A number of accounts have recently tried to access the ACP (control panel) to CGE and have failed. All accounts have since been removed and IP Bans have been given to all of those users.

We understand it might be fun to try and guess your way into the system or simply see what the control panel looks like - however this is not as funny in the perspective of an ADMIN/CGE Staff.

[CGE Event] Cure For Cancer!

Dear Members,

In today's society cancer has increased a lot over the last three decades. Infact i am sure we all have close friends or family who have suffered from this terrible disease. Infact both my grandfathers passed away due to cancer, one was throat cancer and the other was lung cancer many years ago.

As an official CGE Event, we would like to raise money to help find a cure for cancer around the globe.

[ How to contribute? ]
Instead of donating money we will be taking a different approach.

Starting on the 1st of June 2007 until the 14th of June 2007 we will be donating 0.02 cents for every topic or reply posted on the forums. Each guide or informative topic posted or created will be worth 0.05 cents (however you MUST inform us when you do post a guide related item).

During May for a two week period we had over 2,500 topics (within 14 days). In total this would have been worth $50.00.

We hope that this event will generate some more users and support for our Event to help find a cure for cancer.

[ Just posting a topic means I help? ]
Correct.
For every topic, reply or poll created (non-spam related) will be worth 0.02 cents or 0.05 for a guide posted.

Example, member ABC makes 30 topics between 1st of June and 14th of June 2007.
30 x 0.02 = 60 cents.
The CGE Network will then donate 60 cents to the AUST. Cancer Foundation to help find a cure for cancer world wide!

Simply, the more you post the more you help!

Forums Upgrade (revised).

CGE Forums Upgrade.

Dear members and guests,

CGE Network will be performing a forums upgrade by the end of July 2008. Expected day and time of this upgrade has not yet been disclosed and may change at any time. Initially we had planned to perform an upgrade by Friday 11th July - however due to recent events and co-promotional offers at CGE we have decided to postpone this upgrade to ensure no downtime or delays would inconvenience users.

The current forums are version: 2.2.2
Expected version after upgrade: 2.3.5

The extent to which content and operations may be upgraded to is not yet confirmed, however accessing certain modifications such as arcade or army generals may become a problem.

Please take note that we will be removing "member teams" and "game reviews" module from our system permanently within the coming days. All posts made including replies and polls will be deleted and placed in the trash bin.

Banned IP/Emails.

We have noticed a number of duplicate IP addresses and emails which have registered to gain mulitple access codes from the KDS System (Key Distribution Centre - Link Here!).

We have since banned a number of IP addresses and over 65 accounts from the forums for creating illegal accounts (to gain more raffle tickets than the nominated amount).

On top of that we have opened up some more raffle tickets for users to obtain - for those that have not yet received any.

Please take note we will be speaking with IGG Staff tomorrow to obtain more IGG Tales Of Pirates Novice Package Serials, as we have given out all 500. We hope to gain another 500 in the coming days, so please keep checking back!

Dear Members,

This guide or document is to help those who are not familiar with Invison Power Board's (IPB) forum functions, within the "My Controls" section.

Chapter 1: Messenger
Chapter 2: Referrals
Chapter 3: Subscriptions
Chapter 4: Personal Profile
Chapter 5: Options

::Chapter 1 Messenger::

1.1 Compose New Message.
You will notice in messenger that this section contains all the necessary tasks to perfom your standard Private Messages (or PM's). You can click "Compose New Message" to begin sending a message to another forum member (who is registered) or even send it to a group of members.

1.2 Inbox, Sent & Saved PM's.
Your inbox contains all the PM's received from other members within the forum. While logged into the forum you will see in the top right hand corner an option which has "0 New Messages". This indicates how many new PM's you have received. When you receive a new one you will obtain a pop-up on the forum alerting you of the new PM.

Sent PM's is the folder containing all your sent PM's to other members, to place them in this section ensure you move them from you inbox to your sent.

Saved PM's allow you to save important information such as passwords, account login details, email addresses and other related matters.

1.3 Empty PM Folders.
You can use this function to empty one or more of your PM folders. You will be asked which folders you would like to empty. We suggest you clean out your unwanted PMs on a weekly basis to make the forums more neat.

1.4 Edit Storage Folders.
Want to include more folders, simply click on"Edit Storage Folders" to add more PM folders of your choice. For example, a staff member may create a folder called "Staff Information" to save all staff related items.

1.5 PM Block List.
Use this option to BLOCK users from sending your Private messages.

1.6 Archive Messages.
Allows you to do specific searches within your PM folders. This helps when you are trying to locate old information.

1.7 Message Tracker.
Tracking PM's allows you to ensure that the members who received your messages did infact read your messages.

3.1 View Topics.

This allows you to subscribe to a whole forum where all new topics, replies and polls will be noted as new content to be checked upon.

::Chapter 4 Personal Profile::

4.1 Edit Profile Information.
Changing your name, email, MSN, AOL, ICQ, Country, Game Played, Level, Class and so on can be done through this section. This information is also displayed within your profile which other members can access. For example, http://www.cgenetwork.com/forums/index.php?showuser=1 (ID=1, ZoRrO). The ID numbers correspond to the members forum name.

4.2 Edit Personal Portal Information.

To add or remove friends from your list simply visit the "Manage Friend List" link. This allows you to stay in touch with your close forum friends.

This section allows you to set up your ignored users list. When you add a user to your ignore list, any posts they make will be masked until you specify that you wish to read them. You may not be able to ignore users if they are in a member group which doesn't allow them to be added.

As you might of been aware CGE Network hosted an internal event to help raise funds for China's Earthquake. The aim of this event was to raise funds over a period of time and gather a total amount to be donated to a charity of our choice - which is directly related to helping the citizens of China who have been affected by the earthquake.

The event began on the 12th of May 2008 and ended on the 27th of May 2008. Each topic and/or reply created during this time frame was worth 0.20 cents (US). At the end the total amount of topics plus replies would be added and multiplied by 0.20 to give a final dollar value. However we have also decided to donate an extra 0.10 cents (US) for each registeration which occurred between this time frame.

The results are as follow.
64 topics = $12.80 USD (@ .20)
244 comments = $48.80 USD (@ .20)
911 replies = $182.20 USD (@ .20)
481 registrations = $48.10 USD (@ .10)

Firstly, we would like to apologise for the delay in releasing this information - it took longer than expected to finalise the winners and top contestants. Secondly, we would like to thank everyone for contributing towards this wonderful event. We appreciate all of your time and effort and we enjoyed reading and viewing all of your fantastic work.

In order to have your work stand out you really need to consider writing in a unique style, as well as including visual presentation (videos, screenshots, logos, wallpaper, etc). In some cases individuals were also embedding music and animations - which really did well to engage the audience. In order to reach the top you had to include these engaging elements. Most submissions contained pure text, which did not make them stand out from the rest - unless of course you used a unique writing style. Overall the submissions were above average, and this is why it took us much longer to examine and assess each of the articles submitted.

The CGE Network always tries to make sure its community is actively engaged at all times. That is why the CGE Network has installed the "Arcade" system on our official forums. This arcade system enables members to play classic games such as Tetris, PacMan, Snake and many more individually or in team battles!

Members compete with each other to obtain the highest scores and obtain the total jackpot. Each game you play contains a jackpot which can be won by defeating the current highest score (or lowest score depending on the game played).

Each game starts off with a jackpot of 20 CGE Points (What are CGE Points? Refer to this topic: http://www.cgenetwork.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6979). If a new score is set the member will win the total jackpot. For each time the game is played with no successful new score, the jackpot will increase by 2 CGE Points, until a new winner is announced.

The Aracde system has a number of exciting features;

Main Arcade Page: Showing all games, member champions, tournaments, challenges, new winners and defeated members.
Your Settings Page: Enables members to change the way the arcade portal is viewed as well as setting email notifications for when users beat your scores or decide to challenge you.
Your Challenges Page: Shows all new challenges made, completed or proposed. You can click on a members arcade profile and select to challenge them to a game which they have played.

Dear Members,

Lately the administration of KalCentral has reported a number of multiple accounts within the forums under the same IP address or containing similar characteristics.

Let this be a reminder to everyone;

1.12- KalCentral Accounts.

Only 1 (one) account per person. Only 1 (one) email address allowed per account. If accounts share the same IP address you may be questioned to why such activity is occurring. If no reasonable answer is given your other account/s will be removed from the database. Using INVALID emails is not allowed. If caught your account will be removed from KalCentral.

Appropriate NICKNAMES MUST be used on the forums. Anything inappropriate will be banned/deleted.

Staff on KalCentral will now have the right to investigate any user which has multiple accounts or IP addresses related to more than one account. We understand when certain countries use the same IP within a town or suburb, however, other accounts which seem 'out of order' will be investigated.

If a Staff member asks you, why you have multiple accounts we expect an immediate answer. If we find the answer is invalid then your accounts and/or IP address will be banned from all of our databases on the whole Central Gaming Empire Network (domains). For those of us who have not heard of RappelZ, could you explain briefly what future gamers might experience?

1) Rappelz is a fantasy-based MMORPG that uses an intricate player - pet combo system. As you begin your adventure, you will need to choose one of three races; the Deva, Gaia, and Asura, which represent the forces of Creation, Earth, and Destruction, respectively.

The major features of Rappelz are the in-depth Pet System, player-ownable dungeons, beautiful graphics, a captivating orchestral soundtrack, and appealing character models.

Question #2
Most online gamers complain about certain games becoming very repetitive, such as grinding. What kinds of features have been implemented in RappelZ, which might make things more enjoyable and not so repetitive for players?

2) Rappelz�s dungeon system encourages players to create powerful guilds and alliances with the common goal of conquering and owning a dungeon. However, the challenge doesn�t stop once you own it. You must then defend your dungeon from weekly attacks by other guilds. This creates continuous goals for the guilds that own them and long term objectives for guilds that never have.

In 2003 many large gaming industries announced that in game gold farmers or gold sellers where destroying the in game economy. What measures have been undertaken in RappelZ to prevent such operations from occurring?

3) At the end of 2007, when gold farmers were doing their most damage, we as a company instituted several countermeasures that have proven to be very effective. These included everything from modifications to the chat system for lower levels, to organizing in-game stings in order to catch and ban these gold farmers. In addition, we have sent clear warnings to our players that purchasing in-game currency and items from gold farming websites will get you banned and that has made a dramatic impact.

They must time attack the dungeon along with any other guilds that want to take control and the guild with the fastest time gets to participate in a siege over the weekend against the current owner of the guild. The guild that owns the dungeon is able to collect a certain percentage of taxes from all players who choose to fight in the dungeon.

6) First I would ask the user what style of combat they prefer to use. For example, if they like to use magic or use melee attacks, as there are many styles of combat. In addition, all classes have the ability to own and use pets as allies. Besides choosing the right class for you, one crucial gameplay element is a mount. This will help players level and travel much faster than on foot.

The detail put into the skills performed by characters really amazed us, why exactly do you see this as being important to a gamer?

7) In order to create so many types of classes, you must be able to distinguish them and show that they are unique. We definitely thought players would enjoy the variety of skills and appreciate the depth of the game.

We understand that RappelZ currently contains 3 classes, could we expect to see any new classes being added in the future? If so, what kind of abilities would they encompass?

8) Players currently have the option of choosing from three different races. For each of the races you can choose several different job classes which will steer your character into more specialized and advanced forms. Currently we are working with the idea of adding additional job classes, but no new races are in the works.

We understand that the English version of RappelZ is currently at Epic4. What kind of features could players observe when Epic5 is finally released?

How to UPLOAD my items directly onto the CGE Forums?

Uploading is one of the biggest things we will ever do on the internet, and knowing how to upload your screenshots, images and other related data directly onto the CGE forums is essential - if you wish to create a better understanding (or just to show off your supreme graphics or character in game).

This guide will show you exactly how to upload your items to the CGE forums.

Step 1. Creating the topic or reply.

When posting a topic or reply you will always see the following box below called "Attachments". Such as the example image below.

Step 2. Selecting your item(s)!

When deciding to upload data, you will then need to "browse" your computer for the selected item(s) you wish to embed or upload into your topic or reply. Simply click on the browse button in the Attachments section to begin. Refer to the example image below.

Step 3. Uploading!

Once you have selected the item you wish to upload - click on the "upload" button directly next to the "browse" button. Please take note that once you click UPLOAD it will take a few seconds or minutes (depending on your internet connection and file size). Once clicked your attachments box will now look like this...

Step 4. Completed upload!

Once completed you will then be able to see your attachements in your drop down menu called "Manage Current Attachments" - directly above the browse button. As the image below shows.

Step 5. Adding the attachment!

Once you have uploaded all your selected items, you can now choose where you wish to add the attachment within your topic or reply. Simply click in the area of the topic or reply and click on the [+] (green) button within your "Manage Current Attachments" drop down menu. Such as the example below.

Step 6. Saving your topic or reply - the end!

Once you had added your attachements to your topic or reply, you can then click on "post" (as per normal). Your attachements within your topics should look this...

When you have successfully posted your topic or reply - the final result should look like this!

Army General - Slight Change!

Dear Members,

At 4.35pm (+8.00 GMT) a small change was applied to the Army Generals system, regarding gold and turn income.

Previous setting:- "Gold and turns received every 6 hours" (4 times a day).

New setting:- "Gold and turns received every 4 hours" (6 times day).

This new change has been implemented to help speed the process of gaining income and turns at a much faster rate, whereby it speeds up the reactions occuring within Army Generals.

You can view your own profile by clicking your own name in the top left hand bar...

Once you click on your own name, you will be redirected to your own profile page...

Dear Guests and Members of CGE,

Yesterday (15th October, 2007) a dear friend of the CGE Network, JayDee (John), had resigned from office as Chief Development Officer, due to personal reasons. His departure has shocked many within the community and we understand that this is a great lose to the CGE Network.

JayDee was like my "right hand man" - without him CGE Network would not be where it is today. From the bottom of my heart, the CGE Network Team and myself, would like to thank him for all his effort and we wish him the very best in the future.

Although it seems like we have lost a great friend, he stated that he will visit the site and/or forums every so often when he has the opportunity. We will miss you a lot!
